After such a good day of Drum fishing on Saturday at Oregon Inlet, there was nothing caught on Sunday. I was at the Inlet and it was a beautiful day. I had heard there was a 32 in Striper from the surf at ramp 4 on Friday. It is true. I cannot say the last time we have had Striper news from the surf, but I can tell you the last time I caught one. 2007. There were small Bluefish, Blow Toads and Sea Mullet down south. Citation Drum caught at the cape.
The Little Bridge anglers are catching Shad this morning. Brandon Jenkins was boat fishing. He said the sound is warming up. He caught a 23 in Drum and a 20 ½ in Striper. I was glad to hear from him. It is past time for me to get news from our local sound fishermen. (Click on picture).
Sunday was another Bluefin day. Lots of catch and releases. A couple of 450-550 lb giants released. There were plenty of Tilefish for bottom fishermen. Nearshore boats caught Sharks.
OBX Pier has nice Croakers, Sea Mullet and Skates. Nags Head Pier reported Croaker, Blow toad and really small Spot. Avalon has Skate.
The wind is SE at12 and the water temp is 46.
