Drum fishing was outstanding on our beaches Sunday. There were a good many caught at Oregon Inlet. Thanks for the pictures. There were Drum and Trout caught from the KDH and Nags Head beaches. There was a 22 in Trout released in south Nags Head.
Ramp 49 on the south beaches reported Bluefish and Pompano. That’s the first Pompano News I have heard. Cape Point had big Drum and Bluefish.
A school of Drum hung out around 4 hrs at OBX Pier yesterday. Approximately 400 were caught. Some anglers caught up to 40 a piece. We are talking about keepers. That is unheard of. The pier owner said he never had seen it happen before.
This morning OBX pier is catching Mullet, Nags Head catching Drum, Puffers and Skates. Avalon is slow. Jennette’s Pier has Sea Mullet and Stingrays.
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported catch and release Trout all weekend.
Bluewater fleet was a bit slow but manages to catch their limits of Tilefish, a few gaffer Dolphin and Yellowfin.
Inshore boats are catching Drum. Lee Deens caught a 24.5 in at Pirates Cove. Click on pictures.
We have N wind at 7 and the water temp is 50 degrees.
