Surf Fishing Report:
Beautiful Monday morning on the OBX with sunshine and winds out of the NW from 10-15. Dad’s that fished yesterday caught some nice fish from the beach. South of the Inlet there were some big blues in Frisco and an assortment of Spanish, croakers, spot, sea mullet, flounder and pompano. Oregon Inlet had some nice sheepshead from the bridge with blues, sea mullet, puppy drum and small flounder from the beach. North beaches to Corolla reporting NICE black drum from 5-7 lbs, Big sea mullet (pounders) and some puppy drum, few croakers, and small spot.
Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported some speckled trout (just under legal limit) and a few croaker and spot.
Sound charters and head boats are still bring in some nice croaker, spot, puppy drum and few specks.
Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Sea mullet, Spanish and blues. Water temp is 72.
Nags Head: Few blues and spot. Water temp is 71.
Jennette’s: Blues, Spanish, sea mullet, spot and sand perch. Water temp is 72.
Outer Banks: Spanish, blues, triggers, and a few spot. Water temp is 75.
Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
Cobia fishing was a little slower yesterday due to wind but still heard of a few boated.
Nearshore boats are still pulling in Spanish and blues.
Offshore Boats Report:
Offshore captain are still making anglers happy with boat loads of yellowfin tuna, some gaffers, marlin releases and even a mako shark. Nice mixed bag from the gulfstream. Hatteras Inlet charter boats had great catches of dolphin, some yellowfin tuna and tilefish. Also sailfish and white marlin releases.
