Surf Fishing Report:
Sunny today with a side of humidity. Winds out of the SSW at 10-15. Great day for a little surf fishing and ocean dipping. Water temp is still in the 70’s so enjoy! Northern beaches to Corolla anglers are catching some spot, sea mullet, blues and a few black drum. South of the Inlet to Hatteras were reports of Spanish, blues, flounder, sea mullet, pompano and a few puppy drum. Oregon Inlet fisherman are hookin up some sea mullet, few blues and Spanish, couple of small flounder and a puppy drum or two.
Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway is catching some small speckled trout, spot and croaker.
Sound charters and head boats reported some trout, stripers, flounder and puppy drum.
Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Spanish and sea mullet. Water temp is 67.
Nags Head: Puppy drum, Spot, Spanish, Blues and trout. Water temp is 75.
Jennette’s: Spanish and blues with a couple of spot. Water temp is 76.
Outer Banks: Sea mullet, croaker, Spanish, blues and a 16in flounder. Water temp is 74.
Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
The nearshore fleet is still having fun with blues and Spanish and an occasional amberjack or bottom fish. No Cobia reports. The inshore fleet is picking up some puppy drum, speckled trout and small flounder. Further south there were reports of some big drum in the inlet and sound.
Offshore Boats Report:
717.5 Blue Marlin was caught by the Carly A yesterday! Awesome job! Several offshore boats hooked blues, whites and sails. The yellowfin tuna fishing was good with one weighing in at 88 lbs. That’s a big boy! The dolphin rounded out the offshore experience with a few bonus gaffers. Hatteras Inlet fleet caught and released several billfish and brought home some nice yellowfin and dolphin.
