Surf Fishing Report:
Let the sun shine and the fish bite! Pretty Thursday morning with winds out of the west at 10 hopefully shifting to the NE later today. Water temps dropped almost 10 degrees since yesterday. No worries, SKATE love cold water. Haha. Northern beaches to Corolla anglers are catching black drum, small sharks, sea mullet and skate. South of the Inlet to Hatteras, beach fishermen bringing in some flounder, croaker, spot, sea mullet, blues, Spanish, puppy drum and pompano. Oregon Inlet reports include an occasional puppy drum, some sea mullet, croaker, spot and small flounder. Few catch and release stripers around the bridge.
Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway is bring in some croakers, pigfish, and small speckled trout. Never know when that 14 inch baby will swim by so got to keep trying! Sound charters and head boats are bring is a mix of speckled trout, spot, croaker, few puppy drum and pigfish. Maybe even a small flounder or two!
Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Croaker, spot, flounder and SKATE. Water temp is 63.
Nags Head: Blues, Spanish, spot and croaker. Water temp is 65.
Jennette’s: Spot and SKATE. Water temp is 62.
Outer Banks: Spot, sea mullet and croaker. Water temp is 62 .
Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
The inshore gang is catching some speckled trout, sound stripers (catch and release), and a few puppy drum. The nearshore fleet were working the blues and Spanish yesterday with some amberjack and small dolphin.
Offshore Boats Report:
If you haven’t seen a dophin LIGHT UP, then you need to go catch one. The color is amazing. Offshore anglers brought in several dolphin, some gaffers, yellowfin, wahoo, and lots of billfish releases from sails to blues. Hatteras Inlet fleet filling fish boxes with dolphin, some amberjack and bottom fish.
