Surf Fishing Report:
Stormy this morning with a big chance of sunshine! Ocean is calm and beautiful with winds out of the ENE at 5-10. Water temp is back up and the fish are happy! Get your weekend started early and go fishing. Northern beaches to Corolla anglers are catching some Spanish and blues on small spoons, sea mullet, couple of puppy drum and black drum. South of the Inlet to Hatteras where water temp is a bit warmer, surf fisherman are hooking up some pompano, (one weighting 2.8 lbs), sea mullet, puppy drum, Spanish and blues. Oregon Inlet reports include puppy drum, sea mullet, Spanish, blues and spot.
Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway is bring in some small speckled trout with a few keepers. Sound charters and head boats are catching some nice speckled trout, puppy drum and small flounder. Head boats with croaker, spot, sea mullet and pigfish.
Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Blues, spot and croaker. Water temp is 72.
Nags Head: Triggers and flounder. Water temp is 66.
Jennette’s: Spot, sand perch and flounder. Water temp is 67.
Outer Banks: Spot and Spanish. Water temp is 68 .
Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
The inshore boats got to crank on some Big drum yesterday. That’s always exciting! Also great catches of Spanish, blues, few cobia and trigger fish. The nearshore crew had good action with amberjack and albacore.
Offshore Boats Report:
Mahi mania! Great dolphin fishing with some yellowfin, huge bigeyes, (148lb, 184lb and 185lb), few wahoo and billfish releases. Hatteras Inlet fleet catching lots of dolphin, 150 lb shark, triggers, sailfish releases and the “Brothers Pride” caught a 664lb blue marlin!
