Surf Fishing Report:
There were Drum caught from the surf yesterday and should again today. There were also Sea Mullet and scattered Spot. George Hager caught his Drum in Nags Head. Colin McPoyle and buddies from Doylestown, PA were fishing in Pine Island. There bait was a live Spot. They released the Shark immediately. It was healthy when released. (Pictures).
The wind is NE at 7 and the water temp is 75 degrees. The water is muddy. Drum likes muddy.
Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported nothing yet.
Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Northern Mullet. They are the ones with stripes. Croakers and Spot.
Nags Head: Sea Mullet and Spot.
Jennette’s: Caught 5 nice Red Drum yesterday.
Outer Banks: Sea Mullet and Sand Perch. Caught Red Drum last night. 43 in.
Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
It was a big Amberjack day for nearshore boaters. Inshore caught Puppy Drum, Trout, Ribbon fish an Sharks. Miss Oregon Inlet caught big Bluefish, Trout, Croakers and Sea Mullet.
Offshore Boats Report:
Offshore fleet had a good Yellowfin bite yesterday, weighing up to 55 lbs. Also big catches of Dolphin and Tilefish caught wreck fishing.
