Surf Fishing Report:
Action was on the slow side for the weekend. There were Drum caught and some Trout.
NW winds call for good Drum fishing. Easy to find the sloughs. The piers are already reporting Drum this morning. Puppy Drum are bottom feeders. You can use a bottom rig with fresh mullet, menhaden or spot for bait. I use a triple swivel rig most of the time, and I often catch a Puppy Drum when I am fishing for Trout using lead head jigs with twister tail or grub. Puppy Drum have a minimum length 18”- 27” TL. The wind is NW at 8 and the water temp is 73 degrees.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported some keeper Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Slow.
Nags Head: Spot, Croakers Sea Mullet, Trout, and 2 Puppies.
Jennette’s: Bluefish, Spot, Pompano and a in the slot Drum.
Outer Banks: 9 Puppy Drum, 8 keeper Trout and Bluefish.

Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
Insure boats brought back to the docks some Blues, Specks and Drum.

Offshore Boats Report:
The weather improved enough for some of the fleet to sail. Big Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 60 lbs were decked. They caught Wahoo and their limits of Dolphin and Tilefish. There were Blue, White Marlin and Sailfish releases.
