Fishing continues to be as good as it gets here on the outerbanks! Don and Trisha Allen stopped by the shop this morning with their Puppy Drum they caught at the same time on their first casts this morning from the surf near Rodanthe!
Lots of Puppy Drum, Sea Mullet, and Big Speckled Trout in the surf and on the piers around the Nags Head area. Down south between Avon and Hatteras surf anglers are catching Puppy Drum, Big Red and Black Drum, Sea Mullet, Pompano, Sheepshead, Bluefish, Sharks, and even a few Spanish Mackerel!
Fiddler Crabs have been flying out the door for the Sheepshead bite that continues to get better on the Bonner Bridge Pier!
Inshore boats are still finding schools of Puppy Drum around the inlet, but we have heard they are a little apprehensive to bite lately.
The offshore fleet is still seeing those good catches of Yellowfin in certain areas with the occasional Dolphin and Wahoo.
