TW’s Daily Fishing Report

Monday, May 30, 2022

This is the time of year everyone waits for here on the OuterBanks, the Yellowfin Tuna Bite here out of Oregon Inlet is absolutely on fire! Yesterday there were even some Citation Big Eye Tuna in the mix, and to top it off the Dolphin fishing to the south is just as good!

The Cobia pictures keep rolling in from the nearshore boats, and it seems like some bigger fish showed up yesterday. Bud Bishop fishing with Matt Lusk landed an 81.8lb monster yesterday, and Stefan Turko landed a 50lber from his Kayak!

Surf fishing continues to produce good amounts of Puppy Drum, especially around Oregon Inlet. There have been decent catches of Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Black Drum, and even a few cobia from the beach. We received some reports that the Blacktip sharks have started showing up as far north as Salvo already as well.

The local piers have began catching Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish in good numbers this week, as well as a handful of Cobia , stop in and check out or selection of Got-Cha Plugs and Bucktails before you hit the pier!
