he Spanish Mackerel bite on the piers has been pretty good the last couple days with the NE winds and warm water temps! Stop in the shop and check out our huge selection of Gotcha Plugs and Zig Jigs before you head out to the nearest fishing pier to get in on the action!
Aside from the good Spanish Mackerel fishing, pier anglers have also seen decent catches of Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Croaker, Small Sharks, and a few Cobia!
With the high onshore winds the last couple days Inshore fishing has been the best game I’m town. Inshore boats and Kayak anglers have had continued success on the slot Drum and big Trout on the flats around the inlet. We hear the gold spoon has been the go to lure lately, but you know how Fishermen can be… We also received some pictures from Carter and Stella up in Kittyhawk, they said the White Perch bite in the sound is on
The surf has been a little rough yesterday and today, however we have received some reports that there have been a decent amount of Puppy Drum caught on the north and south side of Oregon Inlet. Hopefully when the wind switches after this front moves through surf fishing will pick back up!
Down at the Bonner Bridge Pier the Sheepshead bite is still producing some quality fish from the reports we have heard. They won’t send us any pictures, but with the amount of Fiddler Crabs they have been getting from the shop, we know they must be on the fish!
