TW’s Daily Fishing Report

The fishing and the weather are as good as you could ask for here on the Outer Banks and the forecast for the weekend looks beautiful!

Congratulations to Quentin Turko of Vicarious Spearfishing and Fishing Charters on his monster Cubera Snapper and Gag Grouper he speared this week! He has been after a Cubera for some time and the persistence paid off! If you’re considering booking a spearfishing, or inshore fishing charter give these guys a call!

Pier fishing continues to heat up with a handful of King Mackerel and even a couple nice cobia being caught the past few days. We got a report this morning that the Spanish Mackerel bite was on fire for the anglers casting Got-cha Plugs near the end of the piers. Down at the Bonner Bridge Pier the Sheepshead bite seems to have slowed a little but there are certainly plenty of Sheepshead still around.

Anglers fishing the surf have been reporting good catches of Sea Mullet, Puppy Drum, Spot, Small Flounder, and a handful of Bluefish.

Offshore fishing remains steady. The fleet has been having good catches of Yellowfin, Dolphin, Tilefish, and even a handful of Wahoo.

Soundside anglers are having good luck with Drum and Trout on the flats. Gold Spoons and soft plastics under popping corks seem to be the go to for most anglers. 12yo Finn from Charlottesville, VA landed a nice 3.5lb Trout while kayak fishing the flats down around Avon!
