Jerry Eure from KDH caught a beautiful 5lb 7oz Speckled Trout in the sound on Monday! Sound side fishing seems to be the ticket here lately in the Outer Banks as there have been quite a few nice Trout being weighed. Whether you fish from a Skiff, Kayak, or find a nice spot to wade fish the Puppy Drum, and Trout bite in the sound has been very productive! If you need any helpful tips or want to get rigged up to get in on the action, stop in and speak with our knowledgeable staff!
Surf fishing seems to have slowed a bit with the inconsistent weather we have had this past week. However, anglers are still managing to find a few nice Puppy Drum, along with some Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Pompano, and Spanish Mackerel. Josh Utz spent a few days down in Hatteras chasing Pompano and Spanish Mackerel from the surf and was very successful!
The piers have been a bit slow since the hard winds started over the weekend. Jeff from Nags Head Pier is reporting a few Puppy Drum, Sea Mullet, and some small Bluefish being caught.
Offshore fishing has been a mixed bag with some boats still finding nice catches of Tuna. There has also been good reports of Dolphin, Wahoo, and a few Billfish. The guys bottom fishing are doing well with Tilefish and even a few Grouper have been landed!
