The drum are biting! We heard a report they have already caught a handful of Big Drum on the piers this morning. We were sent a photo this morning of Jennette’s Pier regulars Dr. Tom Hankins and Rick Probst who each landed and released a Big Red Drum! Anglers on Jennettes have also caught Bluefish, False Albacore, and Spanish Mackerel so far this morning.
In the surf there are a bunch of Drum being caught up and down the beach. We have heard good reports from Ocracoke up to the NC/VA State line. Along with the Drum there have been reports of Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Spot, Croaker, Flounder, and Pompano.
On the soundside anglers are still catching plenty of Puppy Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Bluefish, and a handful of Big Drum.
Offshore fishing has picked up with reports of good Dolphin fishing, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, and a decent amount of Billfish Releases!
