Thankfully the weather seems to be settling down for the next day or two, and fishing has picked right back up to where it left off! We just received a report the piers were seeing decent numbers of Big Drum this afternoon, along with Spot, Sea Mullet, Small Speckled Trout, and Sharks.
The Surf is still pretty rough with big swells left over from the storm. However, there are still some anglers out there giving it a shot. We have heard reports of Chopper Bluefish, Puppy Drum, Sea Mullet, Spot, and Speckled Trout.
In the sound there have been a lot of Drum ranging from Slot size fish up to large 40+ inch Citation size Drum. Speckled Trout fishing is picking up as we move into fall. The reports from Little Bridge keep coming in of decent size Trout being caught in the morning and evening. Big Chopper Bluefish have begun to show up in the sound as well. We weighed in a monster this morning at 10.12lbs caught by William Wright, your new Leader for the Bluefish portion of the TW’s Coastal Tournament Series!
Not much to report for offshore, before the storm there was a decent Tuna bite. Hopefully when the fleet makes it back out, they will continue to have good fishing!
