Great fishing continues here on the Outer Banks! We have a lot of customers that stop in and ask what is the best bait this time of year? The quick answer is always going to be Fresh Mullet! In the Fall the Mullet migrate in and out of our Inlets and move along the beaches. Mullet then quickly become one of the primary sources of food for most predatory fish. We do our best to keep plenty of fresh Mullet available all year, so if you need some good fresh bait for your next fishing trip stop in and see us!
Pier fishing has been decent the past couple of days with a handful of Big Drum still being landed. Along with the Big Drum, pier anglers are seeing decent catches of Puppy Drum, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, Spot, and Sea Mullet.
Along the beaches anglers fishing the surf have had success finding plenty of nice Puppy Drum, Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Black Drum, and some smaller Trout. Hopefully with the calm conditions forecasted for the next couple of days we will see those Big Speckled Trout show back up in the surf!
Soundside fishing has been a little spotty the last couple of days with the cold front. Still plenty of Drum and Trout around, there just seems to be fewer bites. Although Striper season is closed in the sound there have been plenty being caught and released around the bridges!
Offshore action has heated back up with lots of Tuna (both Yellowfin and Blackfin), Wahoo, a few King Mackerel, and scattered Dolphin.
