The wind finally stopped blowing for a day and the fishing has improved. We have received some good reports from the surf of Trout, Drum, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Spot, and Flounder are all being caught along with a good number of Sharks. Puppy Drum are being caught up and down the beach on fresh Mullet, however Oregon Inlet and down south around Avon have been the hot spots. Trout have started to show back up here in town and it should improve as the water cleans up.
We heard reports of Big Drum from Jennettes, Rodanthe, and Avon Piers yesterday, good to see they are still hanging around. Nags Head Pier is reporting lots of Spot, small Speckled Trout, and some big Sea Mullet! Jennettes has a similar report today with Spot, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, and small Trout.
Fishing in the sound has improved with some bigger Speckled Trout showing up. There are still plenty of Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, and Bluefish being caught as well. Anglers fishing from The Little Bridge are having good luck with Trout in the mornings.
