TW’s Daily Fishing Report

Wednesday March 29, 2023

More nice Puppy Drum and over-slot fish being caught on the beaches north of Oregon Inlet! Brodie Stuth from Staunton VA caught a beautiful Drum yesterday fishing in South Nags Head, and Ben Mahaffey caught a 30 1/2 inch Drum down at Oregon Inlet Monday evening! Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Blowtoads, Puppy Drum, a few Big Drum, and lots of Sharks have been reported down south from Avon to Ocracoke and most places in between.

We received some good reports of Speckled Trout and a few Puppy Drum from the Little Bridge. Lots lots of small fish, but a handful of nice keepers have been landed. Still plenty of nice Trout from long shoal and further west. Closer to the inlet, there have been better numbers of Puppy Drum beginning to show up as well!

Offshore, the boats are still releasing good numbers of Giant Bluefin with a few boats finding some smaller keeper size fish. Blackfin, King Mackerel, and a few Wahoo have also been reported further south.

Today, we would like to remind you not to get caught wet and cold during the middle of a good bite… Stop by the shop and check out our large selection of Waders by Frogg Toggs and Caddis Waders! If you don’t see what you need, or you are having a hard time deciding what pair of waders best fits your needs, don’t hesitate to ask our knowledgeable staff for some assistance!
