Fishing Report
Whether you’re casting from the surf, heading offshore, or dropping lines in the sound, the local fishing continues to offer anglers an exciting and diverse fishing experience.
The surf fishing has been great fishing for Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Black Drum, and Spot. Hopefully, the conditions stay consistent with the storms off the coast to us. However, with a little churning we could see more favorable Drum conditions. There have also been reports of Pompano and Drum south of Rodanthe and towards the Point.
The piers have been reporting Bluefish and Spanish caught on premade lures. There are also Spot, Sea Mullet, and small Pompano being caught as well. When the conditions are right, there are Drum still biting. We stocked our coolers with big Mullets and fresh Fingers if you’re in need of bait!
The inshore fishing has been good for Trout, mostly in the early mornings and late evenings. Anglers are also catching Drum, Bluefish, and Sheepshead.
The offshore fishing has been absolutely unreal for the Sailfish. It’s been an epic summer, but if Fin Planner is an example of the current bite they’re proof of how fantastic the bite is. 25 released Sailfish… sounds like a good day of fishing! Thee are also catching Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo.
