Daily Fishing Report
Piers:
Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish are being caught on Gotcha Plugs. For Bottom Fishing, shrimp, sand fleas, and fishbites have been catching spot, sea mullet (whiting), croaker and some pompano. Sharks and Rays on cut bait especially at night. The pin riggers have been catching some King Mackerel on the ends of the pier.
Surf:
There has been some good bottom fishing this week with some really nice bluefish and some puppy drum. Some Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel have been caught using sting silver style lures, especially down south around Cape Point. Scattered Sea Mullet, Spot, and Trout have been caught as well.
Inshore:
Really good puppy drum fishing on the flats around Oregon Inlet. Nice class of Trout further west in the sound. Some trout and flounder have been caught off the Little Bridge in the mornings and some good wade fishing for drum south of OI. Big Drum have been getting caught by some boats bait fishing in the sound, only a matter of time before some get caught in the surf.
Offshore:
Billfish have been the story past few weeks with a lot of Sailfish, some Blue Marlin and a few White Marlin. Starting to see some bigger tuna mixed in but its been mainly Blackfin, Mahi, Wahoo and some Tilefish.
