Surf Fishing Report:
Surf fishing was slow overall but there were some Sea Mullet and Bluefish caught along the Hatteras Island beaches. The same for this area north of the Bridge. Ocean is Ocean clear this morning. Should be a good Bluefish day with some Trout.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported good Trout fishing with some slots caught early this morning.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish.
Nags Head: Bluefish and a couple of Spanish.
Jennette’s: Bluefish.
Outer Banks: Bluefish on lures.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Bluefish caught in the inlet with some Sheepshead. Sound fishing has good Trout fishing.

Offshore Boats Report:
Bluewater anglers brought home Yellowfin, Mahi and some King Mackerel

The winds are SE at 4 and the water temp is 61 degrees. Sunny, breezy, calm winds, nice clean swells.

Surf Fishing Report:
Frisco caught Sea Mullet and the Point had Sea Mullet. Some small Trout scattered.
Trout and Sea Mullet on this side of the Bridge.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish and Spanish.
Nags Head: No contact.
Jennette’s: Good Bluefish bite and Spanish Mackerel. I would say the ocean is clearing. It has surely been dirty.
Outer Banks: Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Windy but the Cobia are here.

Offshore Boats Report:
Windy yesterday.

The winds are NE at 5 and the water temp is 63 degrees. Sunny, calm, beautiful Ocean.

Surf Fishing Report:
Slow fishing yesterday. Some Puppy Drum reported in Frisco. North of the inlet plenty Sea Mullet in Kitty Hawk. Some Trout caught along the beaches. A cold front moved through last night, sweatshirt weather this morning. Should warm up a tomorrow with a nicer day.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge .on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout, few keepers and some bottom fish.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Piers are slow this morning, Sea Mullet
Nags Head: Bluefish
Jennette’s: Bluefish
Outer Banks: Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Inshore anglers are catching Bluefish and the Cobia bite is getting better every day.

Offshore Boats Report:
It was Mahi day with plenty Bailer and Gaffers caught. Some Blackfin, Yellowfin and and Albacore as well.

The winds are N at 15 and the water temp is 55 degrees. Mostly sunnycloudy, windy, messy swells.

Surf Fishing Report:
Not much surfing new this morning. There were scattered Sea Mullet, Bluefish, and Pompano on Hatteras Island. The point had a good Drum bite at night catching over a hundred.
This side of the bridge some Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Croaker. I got news this morning there were 2 big Trout caught in the Avalon pier area this morning.

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Trout, Sea Mullet and Bluefish.
Nags Head: Trout, Sea Mullet and Bluefish.
Jennette’s: Bluefish, Trout and Sea Mullet.
Outer Banks: Bluefish, Spot and muddy water.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Near shore nice catch of Bluefish.

Offshore Boats Report:
Dolphin and Blackfin was plentiful and a couple of Yellowfin were also landed. Bottom fishing was good for Tilefish, my favorite on the table.

The winds are SW at 8 and the water temp is 57 degrees. Partly sunny, light, clean swells.

Surf Fishing Report:
This morning I decided it was time to go to the summer format. We have another beautiful day on this sand bar with weekenders already out enjoying the beach this morning.
Ramp 48 and 38 had a good Sea Mullet bite The Point also reported good catches of Blues on metal, Spanish, some citation Drum, citation slot Black Drum and Pompano and some Kings further on the south beaches.
We are catching Croaker, Spot, Sea Mullet and Bluefish. The ocean is really muddy so I haven’t heard of Trout recently.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout and more Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Skate.
Nags Head: Mullet, Bluefish, Trout. First report from them this season. I thought they were never going to open there fishing counter.
Jennette’s: Bluefish, Croaker, Sea Mullet and Spot.
Outer Banks: Bluefish and Spot.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Inshore caught loads of Bluefish and nearshore caught Cobia and Black tip Shark.

Offshore Boats Report:
There was a meat fish slam reported of Dolphin, Yellowfin, Tuna and Wahoo.

The winds are SW at 9 and the water temp is 57 degrees. Mostly sunny, light winds, flat glassy Ocean.

Fishing Report:
Citation Sea Mullet and Pompano were weighed in. Cobia were caught from the beach on opening day. Spanish showed up at the point. Loads of Bluefish everywhere and Sea Mullet, Pompano scattered up and down the south beaches and Frisco had 2 King Mackerel between 28”-30” caught.
North beach’s plenty Bluefish, Trout, Sea Mullet, Spot and Croaker.
One offshore boat from Pirates Cove sailed and caught Yellowfin and some Tilefish. TW’s Nick Walke fished with Capt Aaron Kelly and caught nice size Drum nearshore.
OBX pier anglers are catching Bluefish, Mullet, Spot and small Trout. Jennette’s Bluefish, Spot, Trout and small Flounder.

I would like to thank my readers for their concern and kind words. You guys have certainly stuck with me through the many years I have been writing this fishing report.

The winds are SW at 16 and the water temp is 56 degrees. Sunny, breezy, small swells.

Fishing Report:
I would say the big news would be 35 in Bluefish were hitting lures at the Cape. A few Puppies Sea Mullet and Toads were caught as well. Frisco beaches also reported Bluefish.
Trout has been the big news the last several days in Avalon and Nags head but I’m sure they are scattered on all the beaches north of the Bridge. Also Sea Mullet and Toads.
Several blow days have kept the blue water fleet in but they did well yesterday catching Yellowfin, Dolphin and Wahoo. Near shore trolling boats are filling their boxes with Bluefish. Trout fishing is fair in the sound and the Little Bridge fishermen are catching a fair amount of keeper Trout.
Jennette’s Pier had a good run of Bluefish this morning. A small Flounder, Trout and Bluefish. No contact with Avalon Pier.

The winds are SW at 6 and the water temp is 57 degrees. Sunny, calm winds, flat Ocean.

Fishing Report:
The nippy winds we had yesterday slowed the fishing down. Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Skates were scattered on the south beaches and north of the Inlet there were some Bluefish and Trout reported.
The Fleet stayed in the creek
The little Bridge is catching Trout and Stripers.
Jennette’s Pier is catching Trout and Puffers and OBX is catching small Trout. No contact with Avalon.

The winds are SW at 11 and the water temp is 59 degrees. Sunny, breezy, small weak swell.

To all my faithful readers I am sorry I am late with the fishing report every morning. I had a bit of an accident on Thursday and I have not bounced back as quickly as I had hoped. It probably will be late for a few more days.

Fishing Report:
There were Bluefish and Spanish caught on the south end of Hatteras Island. The Drum bite was on at the point late in the day with more than a 100 citations. Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Black Drum were also caught along the Hatteras beaches.
The exciting news on this side of the bridge Sam Thornton caught 9 lb Speckled Trout surf fishing. I have never seen one or recorded one in the years I have written this fishing report.
It has also been a week all together with changes in the weather constant. There have been a lot of Bluefish and Trout, some Sea Mullet and Blow toads. Forecast for the following week looks good.
The fleet had a good day limiting out on yellowfin, a few Mahi, 100 lb Bigeyes, a 52 lb Wahoo and False Albacore. Nearshore trolling boats caught loads of Bluefish; some Spanish were caught as well. Inshore anglers decked Bluefish, Speckle Trout and Stripers.

The winds are NE at 17 and the water temp is 55 degrees. Mostly sunny, windy, choppy messy windswell.
