Fishing Report

The fish are super excited it’s Spring, which we can tell by the way they’ve been showing up the last few days. From offshore to inshore fishing, anglers are having luck out on the water!

There have been good reports of Big Drum in Hatteras and Ocracoke and Puppy Drum mixed in along the island as well. The Bluefish are still being caught with reports of nice sized Blues caught on metals and cut bait. There have been a few Speckled Trout caught in the surf, but they are typically caught just before sunrise. The Blues haven’t helped either so if you’re catching Blues you won’t be catching Trout. There have also been a few Blowtoads, Sea Mullet, and Black Drum caught as well.

Inshore fishing anglers have caught nice sized Trout, Stripers, Blues and Puppy Drum. @fishpleazecharters have been on the Trout! Luckily, they’re been leaving some for those fishing off the Little Bridge early in the mornings and late in the evenings.

The offshore boats have had productive trips with limits of Tuna and Dolphin depending on where they fish! Jeremy Morrison went offshore on the Outrigger and came in with 13 Tunas and a Dolphin. Afishiando also had some luck with the Tunas as well. If you have a trip booked you can except to hopefully have some good Tuna and Dolphin fishing!

Good luck to those fishing the Ocracoke Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament Thursday – Friday!
