Plenty of Sharks, Stingrays, and a handful of Drum caught by those fishing the Piers the last 2 days. Gumbo Jones caught a mystery Shark this morning on Jennettes Pier, some folks called it a Mako, however we recently heard that Marine Biologists have determined it to be a Juvenile White Shark! The fish was carefully unhooked, and quickly released in excellent condition! Anglers fishing the Piers have also reported excellent spot fishing with some folks catching them 2 and 3 at a time!
In the surf we have received reports of Big Drum and Sharks from Ramp 38 down to Ramp 49. Decent catches of Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Spot, small Speckled Trout, and the occasional Puppy Drum have been reported in the surf around the Inlet and South of Ramp 44.
On the soundside there has been plenty of Puppy Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Striper, and Bluefish. As we posted Wednesday we will get a Striper Season thos year, it opens November 2nd and will Close as soon the allocation is met or December 31st, whichever comes first. The Little Bridge has had anglers lined up every morning catching Speckled Trout, and Drum. If you want to get rigged up to catch some fall Trout, stop in and speak with our knowledgeable staff!
The strong winds has kept most of the offshore fleet at the dock. We have received some reports of good King Mackerel fishing down in Hatteras and a few Wahoo being caught as well.
